Mothers’ Union Notes – October 2018

It was good to meet again after our summer break and to catch up on news. Our thoughts and prayers were with Ellen Brierley who was in hospital and not able to be with us, we wish her a full and speedy recovery from surgery.

We discussed future plans including the Harvest Lunch on October 7th following our Harvest Service. This is one of our principal fund raising activities so do please support us if you can. Lunch is  open to everyone including non-members and their families.

Many congratulations to Alice and Mavis who have recently raised £80 with their jam and chutney sales and Alice’s lovely fruit crumbles. This is part of their contribution to the Christmas Fair event later in the year, they are already working towards that day.

October meetings begin on October 2nd with Nick and Elizabeth’s travels , something we all look forward to. Please note the meeting begins at 7pm and is open for non-members to join us. I have already mentioned the Harvest Lunch but we meet again in October on the 16th for our Wave of Prayer and lunch. Please keep the order of service that is in the middle of you most recent copy of MUNews. I shall be inviting friends from Cliviger and St. Stephen’s to join us again this year. This is usually a very happy occasion that everyone who attends enjoys.

There is a change to the programme for November but more of that next time.

Every good wish
