From the Wardens

As we approach the joyous Christmas Festival we look forward to the celebrations that mark the birth of Jesus. It is a time for families and friendships and for making happy memories to treasure in the future. Our church family, like our personal families, prepares together for this celebration during the season of Advent.

Our Advent Preparation group has held the first of five meetings led by Amanda, our VisionChampion. We were delighted to welcome friends from Cliviger who will join usfor the meetings. In the first week we concentrated on how difficult many of usfind it to discuss our faith with others and the importance of prayer. Thereare four more planned sessions, each with a different emphasis so you can joinin at any point without difficulty of fearing that you have missed one so youcan’t come. Come and find out what it’s all about.

The church interior is also being prepared with the window sills being decorated once again by our uniformed organisations and the Christmas tree in place. We are very grateful to all who have helped to prepare the church for Christmas.

Whilst our usual services will continue, we have additional services in December and are very fortunate to have the support of both Diocesan and Deanery clergy at this time. December services include:-

Sunday, December 2nd         at 11am         Gift Service                       Neil Barnes

Sunday, December 16th      at 11 am        Sung Eucharist                Bishop Julian

Sunday, December 23rd       at 6.15 pm     Joint Carol Service at Cliviger

Tuesday, December 25th     at 10.30 am   Eucharist                          Bishop Philip

We very much hope that you will feel able to join us for some, if not all, of these services.

Whilst the past year has not been an easy one, we are deeply grateful for the help andsupport given to us by so many of the church family. Your willingness to stepin and offer help has made such a difference – thankyou all.

We wish you, and those for whom you care,

A Very Happy and Blessed Christmas.

Pam and Julie
